What are International Standards?

International Standards are technical standards developed by the “International Organization for Standardization” or ISO

ISO is an international standard-setting body founded in 1947, with Head Office in Geneva, Switzerland. Members include 163 countries and various national standards organizations such as:

  • American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

  • The Standards Council of Canada (SCC)

  • The British Standards Association (BSI)

  • SASO (Saudi Arabia)

  • More than 21,000 standards have been issued for various kinds of products and services
